In response to member concerns about the need for a critical mass of system users, Microquest and the AMA have created a free account for every AMA member.
For the past few years, Alberta's health care professionals have been asking for a secure communications platform, one that provides instant and secure electronic communications between physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
The AMA, in response to a motion from the spring 2014 Representative Forum "that the AMA set as a priority the implementation of a secure electronic messaging system," partnered with Microquest Inc. to develop the dr2dr Secure Messaging platform.
Providing every AMA member with his or her own account is just one step on the path to improved communication between healthcare professionals, and improved continuity of care for all Albertans.

Within the next few weeks, AMA members will receive an email from Microquest, titled: dr2dr Account Status. This email will allow you to activate or opt out of your dr2dr account.

Opt Out at Any Time
Both Microquest and the AMA have full respect for your privacy and right to choose. While we fully believe in and support dr2dr, we understand that it might not be for everyone. To that end, if you'd rather not receive an account, please click here to opt-out. You will never receive another email or any other communication from dr2dr and your name will appear as "Opted Out" in the dr2dr address book.
